Combat Heating Solutions Ltd (manufacturer) approached us to install a heater as their existing system was inefficient and out of date.

We recommended a floor standing cabinet heater as there was a full-length mezzanine floor which would have made a vertical flue costly and taken up valuable space.

With this solution, we were able to flue the heater through the wall, saving the client space and money.

What is a destratification fan and why should you use them?

A destratification fan is a ventilation fan, usually suspended from the ceiling. They do not produce any heat themselves, but rather circulate the hot air from the ceiling to the floor. This is one of the most important pieces of equipment to ensure that your heating system runs efficiently and provides the best, most comfortable results.

Why is it so important?

It is a natural process that hot air rises above cold, and this can become an issue for those buildings with high ceilings that need the warm air to be felt by those at ground level. Without the destratification fan, you are essentially spending money to heat a ceiling that nobody can feel, hence why the destratification fan becomes an important device in providing a cost-effective and all-round comfortable environment.

How does warm air heating work?

Warm air heating systems work by recirculating air from inside the building, taking the cool air and passing it through a heat exchanger that uses a gas flame to generate heat. The heated metal plates within the heat exchanger convert the cool air into hot air.

The hot air is then distributed around the building via grilles and vents on the heater. The process is then repeated.

The temperature is usually controlled by a thermostat.
